SOS Costa Rica
Aldeas Infantiles SOS cares for children from newborns to age 17 who cannot live with their own families. Our work centers on the village in Tres Ríos, where we have been a partner since 2022.
The goal is simple: bring some joy and steady support to these kids and the caregivers who raise them. Over the years it has also become one of the most meaningful things our team does together.
What we actually do
Not a logo on a website. A calendar we keep.
The Christmas party
Every year we host a full celebration: decorations, cupcake and cookie decorating, jewelry making, a photobooth, a clown, and an inflatable castle. Our employees, their families, and community volunteers run it together.
Birthdays, every quarter
Four times a year we celebrate the kids with cake and gifts, so no birthday passes unmarked.
Ice cream on Christmas Day
On December 25th, SMASH volunteers serve ice cream at the village. A small thing, on the day it matters.
Gifts, collected and wrapped
Our team coordinates gift collection and wrapping ahead of the holidays, and works with the village leadership to support the caregivers behind the scenes.
